The first week of September 2025 was a vibrant celebration of community-led events in Walungurru, shaped by local voices and guided by what the people truly value. At its core, the week was a tribute to community pride, self-determination, and strength — honouring culture, history, and the enduring spirit of the people.
It was deeply inspiring to witness Pintupi Homelands Health Service, Red Dust, and Purple House come together, three organisations woven into the life and story of Kintore. Most importantly, this celebration was born from the community itself, who asked for it and helped shape every moment.
Together, we marked three significant milestones:
- 40 years of Pintupi Homelands Health Service
- 21 years of Dialysis in Walungurru
- 20 years of Red Dust in Walungurru
But this week was about more than just anniversaries. It was a powerful expression of love, culture, resilience, and the leadership of Aboriginal people in shaping their own futures.
